The primary objective of the Federation of Maltese Aquaculture Producers is to provide a single voice for the Maltese Aquaculture Industry in its quest towards economic and environmental sustainability and social responsibility. This is achieved through:
Our Vision
The harvest of tunas generates by-products such as bones and off-cuts which do not find their way to the market. These by-products can be mechanically and thermally processed into useful ingredients rich in protein, Omega-3, and Omega-6; unsaturated fish oils which are indispensable ingredients for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.
ARL transforms these bluefin tuna by-products into reusable materials. This project is more resource-efficient, adds value to our industry, and helps the local economy through job creation and exports. At the same time, it also contributes to the elimination of our industry’s major waste stream.
At ARL, we envision a future where the often-overlooked by-products of tuna harvesting become indispensable ingredients for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries, turning waste into opportunity.

It is one of the top three Mediterranean bluefin tuna farming companies with a capacity of 3,300.
Fish and Fish Ltd is one of the leading bluefin tuna farms in the Mediterranean.
It has been involved in aquaculture for more than 30 years and supplies farmed bluefin tuna to the Japanese market and other major markets around the world.
MFF Ltd is a very successful fish farming company with more than 30 years of experience.
The Company applied its experience in the industry to diversify production with Atlantic bluefin tuna while investing in research.
